The Spring Classics – Liege-Bastonne-Liege, Paris-Roubaix – are for the hard men of the peloton, testing physical, mental and mechanical resilience. The pro riders spend their winters targeting these legendary races, generally acknowledged as being an early indication of a riders form, but you don’t have to go to Belgium to do that
Sunday 19th April 2020 sees the fifth edition of The BHCC Spring Classic. This early season leg warmer starts at the Observatory Science Centre, Herstmonceux and rolls out into the Sussex Weald and the Ashdown Forest, through 62 miles of undulating country lanes with very little traffic, challenging you to take on some of the finest climbs that East Sussex has to offer.
The organiser has decided on a minimum age limit of 16 years, all riders under 18 year of age must be accompanied by an adult at all time and the British Cycling Parental Consent form must be completed and handed to the registration team on the day.
Entries will close Friday 17th April 2020 at 23:59hrs
On the day entries will be £40.00 for either route.
Info for Riders
Registration opens at 07:00am at the Observatory Science Centre, Herstmonceux castle, Wartling road, Hailsham, East Sussex, BN27 1RN – Parking on the field outside the Science Centre, follow directions of the marshals. Please note that if the ground is wet, we will need to use the hard standing car parks, if this is the case please park carefully and courteously.
Start Times: The long route riders will be starting at 08:30am and the short route riders at 08:45am. Please note that registration closes at 08:45am, No entries will be taken after this time.
Time Cut Off: The timing system cut off is 15:00pm (giving you 6 hours) any riders finishing after that will be listed as DNF. There will be Beachy Head CC sweep team following up behind and a broom wagon behind them clearing the route markers.

Food & Drink: We will have caterers at the Science Centre serving all day. Coffee & Breakfast available from 06:30am.

Refunds and Transfers
No changes after 23:59 on Sunday 5th April 2020, this does not count for early bird entries, they are non-transferable.
Refunds are given at the deaccession of the organiser. Refunds are not available for early bird entries.
